Sequence Data: Fully Sequenced ORF          5' Read Nucleotide Sequence          3' Read Nucleotide Sequence
OTI Disclaimer: Our molecular clone sequence data has been matched to the reference identifier above as a point of reference. Note that the complete sequence of our molecular clones may differ from the sequence published for this corresponding reference, e.g., by representing an alternative RNA splicing form or single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP).
Product Components: The cDNA clone is shipped in a 2-D bar-coded Matrix tube as dried plasmid DNA. The package also includes 100 pmols of both the corresponding 5' and 3' vector primers in separate vials. Every lot of primer is tested to provide clean sequencing of OriGene TrueClones.
Protein Families: Secreted ProteinProteaseDruggable Genome
Protein Pathways: Complement and coagulation cascades
Reference Data
RefSeq Explanation: NM_000931.1, NP_000922
RefSeq Size: 2461 RefSeq ORF: 2160
Synonyms : TPA, T-PA, DKFZp686I03148;DKFZp686I03148; T-PA; TPA; alteplase; plasminogen activator, tissue type; reteplase; t-plasminogen activator; tissue plasminogen activator (t-PA); plasminogen activator, tissue
LocusID: 5327 Cytogenetic: 8p11.21 Domains: kringle, FN1, EGF
Gene Summary: Converts the abundant, but inactive, zymogen plasminogen to plasmin by hydrolyzing a single Arg-Val bond in plasminogen. By controlling plasmin-mediated proteolysis, it plays an important role in tissue remodeling and degradation, in cell migration and many other physiopathological events. Plays a direct role in facilitating neuronal migration. [UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot Function]

Transcript Variant: This variant (2) lacks exons 9, 10, and 11, and uses an alternate splice acceptor site in exon 12 resulting in a frameshift, as compared to variant 1. It encodes isoform 2 which has a distinct C-terminus as compared to the other isoforms and likely does not form a two chain disulfide linked protein like isoform 1.
