Sequence Data: Fully Sequenced ORF          5' Read Nucleotide Sequence
OTI Annotation: The open reading frame of this TrueClone was fully sequenced and found to differ from the protein associated to this reference by two amino acids.
OTI Disclaimer: Our molecular clone sequence data has been matched to the reference identifier above as a point of reference. Note that the complete sequence of our molecular clones may differ from the sequence published for this corresponding reference, e.g., by representing an alternative RNA splicing form or single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP).
Product Components: The cDNA clone is shipped in a 2-D bar-coded Matrix tube as dried plasmid DNA. The package also includes 100 pmols of both the corresponding 5' and 3' vector primers in separate vials. Every lot of primer is tested to provide clean sequencing of OriGene TrueClones.

Summary: This gene encodes a member of the WAP-type four-disulfide core (WFDC) domain family. The WFDC domain, or WAP signature motif, contains eight cysteines forming four disulfide bonds at the core of the protein, and functions as a protease inhibitor. The encoded protein contains a Kunitz-inhibitor domain, in addition to three WFDC domains. Most WFDC genes are localized to chromosome 20q12-q13 in two clusters: centromeric and telomeric. This gene belongs to the telomeric cluster. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene, and they encode the same protein. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008].

Transcript Variant: This variant (b) has an alternate 3' UTR and represents the longer transcript, as compared to variant a.
