OriGene Data
Vector:pCMV6-XL5 Insert Size: 3500 Restriction Site:
Sequence Data: Fully Sequenced ORF          5' Read Nucleotide Sequence          3' Read Nucleotide Sequence
OTI Annotation: There are 2 nucleotide differences between the OriGene clone and the NCBI reference ORF resulting in the subsitution of 1 amino acid. OriGene considers these to be polymorphisms and to reflect the natural differences between individuals. There is also a 150bp in-frame deletion due to exon # 6 skipping from the associated reference. This maintains the reading frame, but results in the deletion of 50 amino acids.
OTI Disclaimer: The sequence of an 'OriGene Unique Variant' differs significantly from the associated reference. It represents a novel splice variant from the same gene locus of the reference. Although such variants are true transcripts and present opportunity for discoveries, they are not yet curated by NCBI and should not be used if the exact reference accession sequence is required.
Product Components: The cDNA clone is shipped in a 2-D bar-coded Matrix tube as dried plasmid DNA. The package also includes 100 pmols of both the corresponding 5' and 3' vector primers in separate vials. Every lot of primer is tested to provide clean sequencing of OriGene TrueClones.

Summary: CCCTC-binding factor (CTCF), an 11-zinc-finger factor involved in gene regulation, utilizes different zinc fingers to bind varying DNA target sites. CTCF forms methylation-sensitive insulators that regulate X-chromosome inactivation. This gene is a paralog of CTCF and appears to be expressed primarily in the cytoplasm of spermatocytes, unlike CTCF which is expressed primarily in the nucleus of somatic cells. CTCF and the protein encoded by this gene are normally expressed in a mutually exclusive pattern that correlates with resetting of methylation marks during male germ cell differentiation. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2012].

Transcript Variant: This variant (2, also know as A2) has an additional exon in the 5' UTR, compared to variant 1. Variants 1, 2 and 3 encode the same isoform (1).

* Delivery time is an estimate in business days. Occasional delays may occur due to unforeseen complexities in the preparation of your construct. International customers may expect an additional 1-2 weeks in shipping
