|The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the S100 family of proteins containing 2 EF-hand calcium-binding motifs. S100 proteins are localized in the cytoplasm and/or nucleus of a wide range of cells, and involved in the regulation of a number of cellular processes such as cell cycle progression and differentiation. S100 genes include at least 13 members which are located as a cluster on chromosome 1q21; however, this gene is located at 4p16. This protein, in addition to binding Ca2+, also binds Zn2+ and Mg2+. Immunohistochemical staining of paraffin-embedded Carcinoma of bladder tissue using anti-S100Pmouse monoclonal antibody. (Clone UMAB24, dilution 1:100; heat-induced epitope retrieval by 10mM citric buffer, pH6.0, 120C for 3min)
Immunofluorescent staining of HeLa cells using anti-S100P mouse monoclonal antibody (UM500024, green, 1:50). Actin filaments were labeled with Alexa Fluor® 594 Phalloidin (red), and nuclear with DAPI (blue).
OriGene overexpression protein microarray chip was immunostained with UltraMAB anti-S100P mouse monoclonal antibody (Clone UMAB24). The positive reactive proteins are highlighted with two red arrows in the enlarged subarray. All the positive controls spotted in this subarray are also labeled for clarification. These data show that UltraMAB anti-S100P (Clone UMAB24) very specifically recognizes S100P antigen on OriGene protein microarray chip.
