Reference Data

Target NameHomo sapiens guanine nucleotide binding protein (G protein), beta polypeptide 2 (GNB2)
Alternative NameG protein, beta-2 subunit; OTTHUMP00000174601; OTTHUMP00000174602; guanine nucleotide-binding protein G(I)/G(S)/G(T) beta subunit 2; guanine nucleotide-binding protein, beta-2 subunit; signal-transducing guanine nucleotide-binding regulatory protein beta
Database LinkNP_005264
Entrez Gene 2783 Human
FunctionHeterotrimeric guanine nucleotide-binding proteins (G proteins), which integrate signals between receptors and effector proteins, are composed of an alpha, a beta, and a gamma subunit. These subunits are encoded by families of related genes. This gene encodes a beta subunit. Beta subunits are important regulators of alpha subunits, as well as of certain signal transduction receptors and effectors. This gene contains a trinucleotide (CCG) repeat length polymorphism in its 5' UTR.
Related Pathway Chemokine signaling pathway

HEK293T cells were transfected with the pCMV6-ENTRY control (Left lane) or pCMV6-ENTRY GNB2 (RC204178, Right lane) cDNA for 48 hrs and lysed. Equivalent amounts of cell lysates (5 ug per lane) were separated by SDS-PAGE and immunoblotted with anti-GNB2.
