|This gene is a member of the TIMP gene family. The proteins encoded by this gene family are natural inhibitors of the matrix metalloproteinases, a group of peptidases involved in degradation of the extracellular matrix. In addition to an inhibitory role against metalloproteinases, the encoded protein has a unique role among TIMP family members in its ability to directly suppress the proliferation of endothelial cells. As a result, the encoded protein may be critical to the maintenance of tissue homeostasis by suppressing the proliferation of quiescent tissues in response to angiogenic factors, and by inhibiting protease activity in tissues undergoing remodelling of the extracellular matrix. HEK293T cells were transfected with the pCMV6-ENTRY control (Left lane) or pCMV6-ENTRY TIMP2 (RC209796, Right lane) cDNA for 48 hrs and lysed. Equivalent amounts of cell lysates (5 ug per lane) were separated by SDS-PAGE and immunoblotted with anti-TIMP2.
Western blot analysis of extracts (35ug) from 9 different cell lines by using anti-TIMP2 monoclonal antibody.
Immunohistochemical staining of paraffin-embedded Human breast tissue within the normal limits using anti-TIMP2 mouse monoclonal antibody. (Heat-induced epitope retrieval by 10mM citric buffer, pH6.0, 100C for 10min, TA504043)
Immunohistochemical staining of paraffin-embedded Human pancreas tissue within the normal limits using anti-TIMP2 mouse monoclonal antibody. (Heat-induced epitope retrieval by 10mM citric buffer, pH6.0, 100C for 10min, TA504043)
HEK293T cells transfected with either RC209796 overexpress plasmid(Red) or empty vector control plasmid(Blue) were immunostained by anti-TIMP2 antibody(TA504043), and then analyzed by flow cytometry.
