Background	Scribble is a cytoplasmic multimodular scaffold protein targeted to epithelial adherens junctions and neuronal presynaptic compartments. Scribble and its orthologs in vertebrates and invertebrates participate in cell polarization (1). It may regulate cell invasion through MAPK signaling. Scribble functions as an activator of Rac GTPase activity (2). Deficiency in Scribble impairs many aspects of cell polarity and cell movement (1).
