BackgroundHACE1 is an E3 ubiquitin ligase whose expression is greatly reduced in sporadic Wilms' tumors (1). It is widely expressed in human tissues, including mature pediatric and fetal kidney (2). Moreover, HACE1 is reported to be a tumor suppressor (1).
