Alternative NameDACH
Database LinkNP_542937
Entrez Gene 1602 Human
Entrez Gene 13134 Mouse
FunctionDachshund is a human homologue of Drosophila melanogaster dachshund, which is a nuclear factor essential for determining cell fates in the eye, leg, and nervous system. Mouse Dachshund protein was immunolocalized to specific cell types within the developing kidneys, eyes, cochleae, and limb buds (1). Dachshund was found to be expressed in breast cancer cell lines and to inhibit transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-beta)-induced apoptosis. Dachshund participates in the negative regulation of TGF-beta signaling by interacting with NCoR and Smad4 (2).

Flow Cytometry-Anti-DACH1 antibody(TA307015); Overlay histogram showing HeLa cells stained with TA307015 (red line). The secondary antibody used was DyLight 488 goat anti-rabbit IgG (H+L) at 1:500. Isotype control antibody (black line) was rabbit IgG (monoclonal) (1ug/1x10^6 cells) used under the same conditions. Unlabelled sample (blue line). This antibody gave a positive signal in HeLa cells under the same conditions.
