Nucleoside diphosphate kinase (NDK) exists as a hexamer composed of 'A' (NME1) and 'B' (Nm23-H2) isoforms (1). Nm23-H2 plays a major role in the synthesis of nucleoside triphosphates other than ATP. It negatively regulates Rho activity by interacting with AKAP13/LBC. Nm23-H2 acts as a transcriptional activator of MYC, binds DNA non-specifically, and exhibits histidine protein kinase activity (2).
