This gene encodes a protein containing two conserved tandem RNA recognition motifs. Similar proteins in other species function as RNA-binding proteins and play central roles in posttranscriptional gene regulation. Expression of this gene has been correlated with the grade of the malignancy and proliferative activity in gliomas and melanomas. A pseudogene for this gene is located on chromosome 11q13. HEK293T cells were transfected with the pCMV6-ENTRY control (Left lane) or pCMV6-ENTRY MSI1 (RC215992, Right lane) cDNA for 48 hrs and lysed. Equivalent amounts of cell lysates (5 ug per lane) were separated by SDS-PAGE and immunoblotted with anti-MSI1.
Western blot analysis of extracts (35ug) from 9 different cell lines by using anti-MSI1 monoclonal antibody (HepG2: human; HeLa: human; SVT2: mouse; A549: human; COS7: monkey; Jurkat: human; MDCK: canine; PC12: rat; MCF7: human).
HEK293T cells transfected with either RC215992 overexpress plasmid(Red) or empty vector control plasmid(Blue) were immunostained by anti-MSI1 antibody(TA502253), and then analyzed by flow cytometry.
