Reference Data

Target NameHomo sapiens Kv channel interacting protein 1 (KCNIP1), transcript variant 1
Alternative NameKCHIP1; VABP
Database LinkNP_001030009
FunctionKCNIP1 is a member of the family of voltage-gated potassium (Kv) channel-interacting proteins (KCNIPs), which belong to the recovering branch of the EF-hand superfamily (1). This protein is the regulatory subunit of Kv4/D (Shal)-type voltage-gated rapidly inactivating A-type potassium channels. KCNIP1 modulates channels density, inactivation kinetics and rate of recovery from inactivation in a calcium-dependent and isoform-specific manner. It is also involved in KCND2 trafficking to the cell surface (2).
