|Glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) is a gut hormone resulting from the proteolytic processing of preproglucagon (1). As a potent stimulator of glucose-dependent insulin release, it plays important roles in gastric motility and the suppression of plasma glucagon levels (2). GLP-1 increases islet mass through the stimulation of islet neogenesis and pancreatic beta cell proliferation (2). It also inhibits beta cell apoptosis (2). GLP-1 is secreted from intestinal L cells throughout the gastrointestinal tract and induced in response to nutrient ingestion (2). These physiological functions make GLP-1 a therapeutic target for type 2 diabetes, especially in the treatment of severe hypoglycemia in insulin-dependent diabetics (2).|

Western blot - Anti-Glicentin antibody [EPR4042]; Anti-Glicentin antibody [EPR4042] at 1/200 dilution + Glicentin polypeptide at 0.005 µg.Predicted band size : 21 kDa.
ELISA - Anti-Glicentin antibody [EPR4042]; 1 ug/mL of Glucagon-like Peptide (GLP-1) was coated into 96-wells. Various concentrations of anti-Glucagon-Like Peptide 1 (GLP-1, 7-36,amide) rabbit monoclonal antibody was added. HRP conjugated goat anti-rabbit IgG antibody was used to develop the color.
Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/PFA-fixed paraffin-embedded sections) - Glicentin antibody [EPR4042]; TA307487, at 1/100 dilution, staining Glicentin in Human pancreas tissue by immunohistochemistry
