Background	ERGIC3 plays a role in trafficking between the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and Golgi. It forms a complex with Erv41p, which is selectively and efficiently packaged into COPII vesicles. Complex formation is required for the stability of the two proteins and their co-transport to the Golgi. ERGIC3 also interacts with ERGIC-32, a novel cycling membrane protein (1).
