Synonyms:
DFF-45; DFF1; ICAD
Immunogen
A synthetic peptide corresponding to residues in human DFF45/DFF35 was used as an immunogen.
Buffer
Store at -20C. Buffer: 50 mM Tris-Glycine (pH 7.4), 0.15 M NaCl, 40% Glycerol, 0.01% sodium azide and 0.05% BSA. Stable for 12 months from date of receipt.
DNA fragmentation factor (DFF) is a heterodimeric protein of 40-kDa (DFF40) and 45-kDa (DFF45) subunits. DFF45 is the substrate for caspase-3 and triggers DNA fragmentation during apoptosis. DFF becomes activated when DFF45 is cleaved by caspase-3. The cleaved fragments of DFF45 dissociate from DFF40, the active component of DFF. DFF40 has been found to trigger both DNA fragmentation and chromatin condensation during apoptosis.
