OTI Annotation: This clone was engineered to express the complete ORF with an expression tag.
OTI Disclaimer: The molecular sequence of this clone aligns with the gene accession number as a point of reference only. However, individual transcript sequences of the same gene can differ through naturally occurring variations (e.g. polymorphisms), each with its own valid existence. This clone is substantially in agreement with the reference, but a complete review of all prevailing variants is recommended prior to use. More info
Product Components: The ORF clone is ion-exchange column purified, transfection-ready dried plasmid DNA, and shipped with 2 vector sequencing primers.

Summary: This gene encodes a member of the ATP-binding cassette superfamily of transporters. ATP-binding cassette proteins transport various molecules across extra- and intra-cellular membranes. The encoded protein is localized to the mitochondrial inner membrane where it interacts with and stabilizes mitoferrin-1, and is important for heme biosynthesis. Additional evidence suggests the encoded protein is involved in oxidative stress protection and erythropoisesis. [provided by RefSeq, May 2013].
