OTI Annotation: This clone was engineered to express the complete ORF with an expression tag. Expression varies depending on the nature of the gene.
OTI Disclaimer: The molecular sequence of this clone aligns with the gene accession number as a point of reference only. However, individual transcript sequences of the same gene can differ through naturally occurring variations (e.g. polymorphisms), each with its own valid existence. This clone is substantially in agreement with the reference, but a complete review of all prevailing variants is recommended prior to use. More info
Product Components: The ORF clone is ion-exchange column purified, transfection-ready dried plasmid DNA, and shipped with 2 vector sequencing primers.

Gene Summary: This gene encodes a fusion protein that undergoes proteolytic processing to generate two mature proteins: alpha-1-microglobulin (A1m) is a heme-binding plasma glycoprotein of the lipocalin superfamily of proteins that bind to hydrophobic molecules, whereas bikunin belongs to the superfamily of Kunitz-type protease inhibitors. The transgenic mice specifically lacking bikunin, but not A1m, exhibit female infertility and an increased sensitivity to lung metastasis. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2015].
