Sequence Data: Fully Sequenced ORF          5' Read Nucleotide Sequence          3' Read Nucleotide Sequence
OTI Annotation: This construct is a cloned PCR fragment that was fully sequenced. There is 1 nonsynonymous nucleotide substitution and a 5-nucleotide deletion in the OriGene clone compared to the NCBI reference ORF. This results in a frameshift and therefore does not pass the minimum specifications of a custom clone from OriGene. However, given the possibility that a reference may be incorrect, this information is forwarded in case the researcher deems this clone acceptable.
OTI Disclaimer: The sequence of an 'OriGene Unique Variant' differs significantly from the associated reference. It represents a novel splice variant from the same gene locus of the reference. Although such variants are true transcripts and present opportunity for discoveries, they are not yet curated by NCBI and should not be used if the exact reference accession sequence is required.
Product Components: The cDNA clone is shipped in a 2-D bar-coded Matrix tube as dried plasmid DNA. The package also includes 100 pmols of both the corresponding 5' and 3' vector primers in separate vials. Every lot of primer is tested to provide clean sequencing of OriGene TrueClones.

Summary: This gene encodes a bZIP transcription factor that binds to the cAMP responsive element found in many viral and cellular promoters. It is an important component of cAMP-mediated signal transduction during the spermatogenetic cycle, as well as other complex processes. Alternative promoter and translation initiation site usage allows this gene to exert spatial and temporal specificity to cAMP responsiveness. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding several different isoforms have been found for this gene, with some of them functioning as activators and some as repressors of transcription. [provided by RefSeq, Jul

Transcript Variant: This variant (1) encodes the longest isoform (1). This isoform represents an activator tau2 isoform.
