Background / Description Housekeeping proteins perform numerous basic functions within the cell and are constitutively expressed at high levels in a variety of tissues and cell types. Housekeeping proteins such as β-actin, tubulin and GAPDH are commonly used as loading controls in Western blot analysis. HSP90AB1 (Heat shock protein 90KDa alpha, class B member 1) is also included in the kit. The relatively high molecular weight of HSP90AB1 provides convenience and flexibility for customers studying proteins that are similar in size to other loading controls.
